The term “magician” simply isn’t sufficient to describe Jason Michaels. Jason creates a unique, interactive experience far beyond the scope of the traditional “magic show.” While he makes excellent use of magic techniques, Jason also draws from his background in theatre to create original, compelling visuals that audiences never forget. As in most great entertainment, Jason creates at times uncontrollable laughter and, at other times, tense, gripping suspense that forces you to the very edge of your seat.
Jason spent his college years focused on the study of theatre and honing his performance skills. Magic remained merely a hobby until the opportunity arose to study and work with Brett Daniels, one of today’s top illusionists. Daniels was a major influence on Jason’s “post-graduate work” in the field of stage magic and illusion. Jason also had the opportunity to work with and learn from other masters of stage illusion, The Pendragons.
When Jason abandoned the “safety net” of working for other entertainers, he employed razor-sharp sleight of hand to create lasting impressions on those who saw him live. Featured on several television programs, Jason’s playful style of “street magic” continues to amaze audiences with dazzling feats of visual poetry utilizing only a deck of cards, two hands and years of practice.
While performing his sleight of hand for both private and corporate clients, Jason developed his signature stage show, Secrets and Illusions. Jason has made Secrets and Illusions the flagship of the Jason Michaels experience by bringing huge laughs, unforgettable audience participation and standing ovations from audiences. Since its inception, Secrets and Illusions has been seen by countless corporate audiences, major colleges and universities and on stages in performing arts centers across the country.
