About JB Roberts & the Good Stuff:
JB Roberts grew up in a small southern town "somewhere between nowhere and the beach." JB Roberts was strumming a six-string by the time he was 5 and weaving dreams of a life in music soon thereafter. An apprentice of country legend Lamar Morris of The Alabama Band, Roberts' musical roots stretch deep into country soil. But his sound explores larger terrain. With a guitar strapped to his back, JB Roberts left his nowhere town as a musical vagabond, traveling to festivals, fairgrounds, family rooms and firesides--damn near anywhere he could sing for damn near anyone who wanted to listen. As his travels stretched, so did his music, melding blues and funk into his child-reared country, gluing it together with the sticky sweat of a hundred packed venues across the South. Taking cues from regional brethren like the Allman Brothers, Warren Haynes and the Black Crowes, JB Roberts’ soulful southern blend warms the pallet like whiskey straight after a meat and three.
Every Step, Roberts' 2006 LP, is a testament to this. The record was churned out in one weekend session at Decatur, Alabama's Clearwave Recording Studio with producer Jeremy Stephens. Eleven tracks of original material are backed by fellow homegrown musicians N.C. Thurman, David Hood and others, adding to the bluesy brand of music brought to you by the JB Roberts Band.
