Dennis has taken this act on the road. Dennis performs all over the country as "Denny as Kenny."

You may have seen Dennis Murphy banging away on the drums with gospel sensation the Kingdom Heirs at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

"On the drums, from West Virginia, please give a big hand for Dennis Murphy," says one of the Kingdom Heirs Vocalists as he introduces each band member.

But, have you seen Dennis performing "Denny as Kenny?"

"No shoes. No shirt. No problems," sings Dennis in a cut off shirt, blue jeans and a cowboy hat. "You put the hat on and it sort of just like comes... I don't know, I can't explain it."

Yes, Dennis is a gospel drummer by day and a Kenny Chesney impersonator by night.

"Here we go," says Dennis into the mic.

It is not something he planned.

"When it first started, I was like they recognize me being with the Kingdom Heirs," says Dennis. "Then, they would approach me and say are you Kenny Chesney. I'd blow it off and say no, no, no."

Dennis had to see it for himself.

"I went to the store and looked at that cd and I said, 'OK, I see where people are getting this,'" says Dennis. "I thought ok there's something I can turn this into and have a lot of fun with, but part time."

"Denny as Kenny" was born. His fans even include Kenny's own father who is a regular at the Kingdom Heirs Show.

"I put my hat on and he was like, 'Oh wow,'" says Dennis remember the first time Kenny's father noticed the resemblance. "If I can convince his dad, I guess I can convince anybody."

Dennis finally met his look-a-like at a show with Kenny's father.

"He was cool about everything," says Dennis. "You know what is more flattering than to have somebody impersonate you?"

At the concert, Dennis even fooled a few fans.

"We were sitting in the hotel lobby and Kenny's father says, 'You better get ready. We're getting approached right now. Get your sharpie out and get ready to sign a few autographs,'" remembers Dennis.

However, Dennis is not planning to hang up his day job anytime soon.

"There's only one Kenny Chesney, I totally respect that," says Dennis. "Kingdom Heirs is me... the drummer. This is where I'll retire."

Still, Dennis will play off his looks as he can. After all, "Denny as Kenny" is better than no Kenny at all.

"Sometimes, it's ok to settle," smiles Dennis.
