About League of Decency:

The League of Decency is Atlanta, Georgia's prime purveyor of Swing, Soul, and Roots Rock 'n' Roll dance band. The League of Decency was founded in 1984 by Tommy Dean and Billy Mcpherson as a duo performing weekly at The Point in Little 5 Points. After a four year run, The Point changed hands in 1988, Mcpherson left for Seattle, and Dean started building a larger group with an enormous reputation. A major facet of this musical group is the tight-knit horn section featuring Earl Ford on trombone, Karl Liberatore on trumpet and flugelhorn, and Randy Hunter on tenor and baritone saxaphone. This section gives the live party band the big full sound of a Count Basie-style small band or the punch and excitement of a Memphis/Muscle Shoals-style group. This means The League of Decency sounds like the real thing when they launch into "Take the 'A' Train" and just as authentic when they stomp into any of the Stax/Volt numbers made famous by John Belushi and Dan Ackroyd in the Blues Brothers Movies. Unlike many groups, The League consists of the same musicians from month to month. This is the only way to achieve the near-telepathic communication that is evident between the musicians in this group.
The League of Decency can provide you with great live entertainment no matter what the occasion from wedding receptions, corporate parties, Bar Mitzvahs, and all other events, this band brings fun, quality and professionalism. Their main goal is to create live music and entertainment that you and your guests will definitely enjoy.
