About Mike Snider - Comedian:

One of contemporary country comedy's most popular figures, Mike Snider was immediately recognizable for his signature banjo skills, distinctive Southern drawl, and myriad comic tales of his wife Sabrina, aka "Sweetie." Born in Gleason, TN, in 1961, he received his first banjo at the age of 16, and soon won a number of talent contests; at the age of 22 he even took home top honors at the National Banjo Championship. After debuting at the Grand Ole Opry, Snider was then invited to be a guest on TNN's Nashville Now, hosted by Ralph Emery. When Ralph interviewed Snider, the audience burst out into laughter. Since then, Snider's phone has been ringing off the wall requesting Mike to come talk and play the banjo at events all over the United States. Snider southern drawl, country wit and musical ability landed Mike a permanent spot on one of the most hallowed stages in country music when he was made a member of the Grand Ole Opry, June 2, 1990.
Mike Snider was a cast member of Hee Haw for 7 years and has appeared on TNN's Nashville Now and Music City Tonight over 150 times, and played over 1,000 shows on the Grand Ole Opry.
