About The Band

Too Much Sylvia has the desire and ability to please and play something that everyone will enjoy. Their fun, contagious personalities will touch all. Whether it's a low key dinner setting or an energetic 80's party, the band easily adapts. By NOT working from a "set list", Too Much Sylvia has the ability to "feel the mood", pace the song selection and provoke audience interaction to reach a peak at the right moment. The experience and professionalism only adds to the ease of working with Too Much Sylvia.

For wedding receptions, Too Much Sylvia understands their role in creating a memorable party. With over 400 receptions to their credit, feel comfortable in knowing that the band can easily to adapt to song requests and special moments that always just, "happen". Learning a special "first dance song", appropriately dressed in their black tuxedo's and handling the emceeing, Too Much Sylvia will work with the planner and/or bride & groom, to customize the order of events from arrival to exit.

Corporate events usually demand more of a theme and structured format, which Too Much Sylvia enjoys being a part of the creative process. Whether it's emceeing, providing a "Paul Shaffer approach" to introductions, helping with a skit, working their show to adapt to the theme, Too Much Sylvia thrives on helping make the party, unique. Of course, as the evening progresses, the band can easily provide all types of dance/party music handling most requests with ease.

Having worked with many FUNDRAISER events through the years, 2MS understands many of the emotional ties the supporters and patrons experience. With regard to these feelings, the band can pace the evening accordingly. With their personalities, interaction and song selection, Too Much Sylvia will help the event end with positive, happy feelings for all the participants. Very experienced in working with the different types of auctions and other on-site fund-raising activities, the band can easily adapt to your situation.

FESTIVALS & AFTER FIVE events have been a perfect match for Too Much Sylvia's presentation. Developing a loyal following of "Mama's Kid's" as the Too Much Sylvia fans are called, the band is draws a good crowd in the Carolinas. Their RED SUNGLASSES CD from 2009 continues to be played on the Beach Music stations as fans show up with their RED SUNGLASSES and sing along. Again, the normal presentation will provide anything from a few "unplugged" tunes, some beach, Motown, Funky 70's, Retro 80's a few of the top current hits and some Country. Blend this in with some possible "special guests" such as ZZ Topp, Boy George, The Supremes, etc and it really turns into the perfect entertainment for these types of events.

Too Much Sylvia features THREE lead vocalists that are always having fun - Eddy with his crystal clear voice to Steve's funky, soul sound and Rick's scratchy rock & roll, pretty much have the vocal styles covered. Their vocal blend and harmonies are, really . . . a major part of their sound. Combine all the above, with their tight, tasteful musical arrangements and drummer Don's rhythms, makes the groove appealing to dancers at a comfortable sound level for everyone.

The Too Much Sylvia Band will always do their best to make your event the best!
